Alex Daini
Alexandra recently moved to South Carolina where she has her studio and home schools her son. She was born in Caracas, Venezuela; were she grew up in a family of artists. Took her first art lessons with her father, the sculptor Hugo Daini.
She graduated as a Graphic Designer in Milan, Italy. Her artistic career started as a graphic artist; later on, she explored fused glass and clay, and finally found her real passion in silver jewelry. In 2004 she incorporated Silver Clay to her work.
As an Art Clay Senior Instructor Alexandra teaches workshops and certification classes at her studio. She has been a guest teacher at the Harvard University's Ceramic program, and in 2009 was a presenter in the Metal Clay Word Conference.
Her designs are deeply influenced by her formation as a designer and by the nature around her.
Alexander has been awarded:
- Honorable Mention at the 2007 Silver Accessories Contest, Japan.
- Judges' Encouragement 2009 Silver Accessories Contest, Japan.
Alex' work is show in the Canadian Ceramic and Glass Gallery, Waterloo, ON. Alex is an Art Clay World Senior Instructor. She teaches workshops and certification classes at her studio and workshops as visiting artist at the Office for the Arts at Harvard Ceramic Program.
For more than 8 years Alex has been a teacher at the “Meet the Masters” program, which is a program designed to teach elementary kids Art.
